The Comox Valley Community Foundation welcomes donations of any size either directly or though our partner, CanadaHelps Tax receipts are provided for donations $25.00 and over. General, in memoriam, and in honour donations can be made with either a one-time payment, or by providing ongoing support through a monthly gift.
Simply give our office a call at 250-338-8444 and we would be happy to assist you. If we are unavailable, please leave your name, telephone number, date, and time of call and we will contact you during our next regular business hours.
Mail your cheque to the Comox Valley Community Foundation indicating which fund you would like your donation to go to on the memo line. Please ensure they are made out to the Foundation. Mail to: #102 1797 Comox Avenue, Comox, BC, V9M 3L9.

Donate today! You may designate your gift to any of our funds, by selecting from their pull-down menu or by writing in the “message/instructions” box. All donations over $20 will immediately receive a taxable receipt.
CanadaHelps is a registered charity and public foundation on a mission to make giving simple. Through CanadaHelps.org, anyone can donate online to any registered Canadian charity. They allow you to make one-time donations or monthly donations.
- You may pay with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Interac or through a PayPal account.
- After you pay for your gift, CanadaHelps.org will send you an online receipt.
- There are several privacy permissions available: if you choose to include your name and address in the information that is sent to us, we will be pleased to let your designated organization know that a contribution has been made to their fund.
CanadaHelps assesses a 3.5 per cent transaction fee on each donation. This amount is deducted before the donation is sent to the Comox Valley Community Foundation. This 3.5 per cent covers all credit card merchant fees, transaction fees, banking costs, receipting, reconciliation and disbursement.
With Publicly Listed Securities
A gift of publically traded securities is the transfer of ownership of stocks or bonds to the Comox Valley Community Foundation. Donating appreciated securities to the Foundation allows you to eliminate capital gains tax and receive an immediate tax receipt for the market value of the securities. To donate securities, please phone the CVCF office: 250.338.8444 or come by during regular office hours: Tuesday or Thursday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.
Year-end Donation Deadlines
Gifts by Cheque
If you wish to receive a same-year tax receipt, please ensure that your cheque is mailed (and postmarked) no later than December 31. Please make cheques payable to the Comox Valley Community Foundation, specifying the name of the fund in the memo field.
Gifts by Credit Card (via CanadaHelps)
Make online gifts before midnight (PST) on December 31.
Gifts of Securities
When making gifts of publicly-listed securities, we recommend contacting the office by December 1 in order to ensure that final ownership of the securities is transferred to the Comox Valley Community Foundation by December 31.
