Craig Rennison
Chair
Craig is a seasoned Commercial Insurance Broker with over 20 years of industry experience. As a passionate advocate for the Comox Valley Community Foundation, Craig brings a unique blend of expertise, enthusiasm, and a degree in Risk Management. A dedicated volunteer with a passion for making a positive impact in his community, he contributes to contributes to organizations like the Rotary Club of Courtenay (Past President and current member) and the Comox Valley Charity Classic. As a 5th-generation descendant of the Rennison and Anderton families, Craig is deeply connected to the community and proudly serves as a second-generation President/Chair of the Community Foundation.

Outside of the work Craig enjoys spending time with his wife Alyson. Together, they enjoy golfing, curling, watching sports of any kind and are avid boaters and fishermen. Craig is always eager to connect and share more about the amazing work of the Comox Valley Community Foundation.
Russell Tibbles
Secretary
Russell and his wife moved here in 2004, seeking a smaller town to raise their two children. He believes strongly in the Comox Valley and all that it has to offer. Community development – social, environmental and economic – has always been an integral part of Russell’s real estate development business activities. His 25+ years of experience includes senior positions with Intrawest Corporation and Bentall Kennedy LP, where he managed a range of complex development projects, transactions and public consultation/approval processes. Russell is currently president of Island Places Property Corporation.

Russell spends his spare time enjoying the Valley’s many recreational offerings including alpine skiing, mountain biking, hockey and boating.
Judith Marriott -FCPA, FCA
Treasurer
Judith is the Chair of the Department of Business Administration at North Island College where she has taught business courses, with a focus on accounting, for over 20 years. She believes strongly in giving back to her community. In addition to her roll as Treasurer with the Foundation, she currently volunteers at the Comox Valley Community Justice Centre, the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park Association and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Courtenay and current District 5020 Secretary. She has recently been appointed to the District Governor line for District 5020 of Rotary International and will assume the position of District Governor on July 1, 2027.

In November 2023, Judith was elected to Fellowship with the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (CPABC) which is a recognition by CPABC of her contributions to the profession and to the community.
Selen Tiryakioglu
Director
Selen’s journey from Izmir, Turkey, to Canada’s west coast began in 2013 when she arrived in Cumberland, a welcoming haven where she felt at home. Before her move, she was deeply involved in social and political activism, advocating for causes like freedom of speech, human rights, environmental issues, and animal rights in Turkey.

Selen proudly became a Canadian citizen in 2022, and her commitment to advocacy remained unwavering. Selen’s community contributions have been diverse, from organizing cultural events, coordinating volunteers, and aiding harm reduction at festivals. Her unique perspective on social disparities fuels her dedication to advocating for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, aiming to foster a more inclusive and compassionate world. She’s excited to bring her multicultural background and life experiences to the Community Foundation as a board member, further enriching their mission.
Judy Moore
Director
Before retiring and moving to the Comox Valley, Judy was an educator by profession, teaching in the school and college systems in Saskatchewan. She went on to serve in senior executive positions in the public sector at the federal, provincial, and territorial levels, including Assistant Deputy Minister of Western Economic Diversification, Deputy Minister of Social Services, and Deputy Minister of Education.

Judy also served as a board chair with the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division for 10 years. She loves all that the Comox Valley has to offer and enjoys hiking and biking, as well as attending local arts and cultural events. Judy looks forward to giving back to the community through her work with the Comox Valley Community Foundation.
Jen Wrye
Director
Jen is a Sociologist who is committed to community, equity and social justice. She moved to the Comox Valley to take a position at North Island College, where she teaches Sociology and supports colleagues as a Teaching & Learning Faculty Developer. Since 2021, she has served as the North Island College Faculty Association president. Jen is a past Director and Board Chair with LUSH Valley.

Jen enjoys being active and outdoors in her spare time and can be found enjoying recreational activities like soccer, softball, yoga, paddle boarding, and gardening. She is also passionate about the local food movement and enjoys the vast variety of regional food and drink the Valley has to offer.
Adam Wunderlich
Director
Passionate about community development, Adam has proudly called the Comox Valley home since founding a business here in 2010. Currently serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Meraki Resources, he brings a wealth of experience from building and leading companies to participating on various corporate and industry association boards. Adam’s commitment to community service is underscored by his five-year dedication to serving on YANA’s Board of Directors up until late 2020.

Beyond his professional engagements, he divides his time between Courtenay and Hornby Island. When not immersed in business and community activities, you’ll find him wrangling his teenagers, hiking scenic trails, exploring local treasures, and embarking on adventures both close to home and abroad.
Judy Village
Director
Judy Village retired to the Comox Valley in 2019 and is keen to make a difference in the community. She brings experience on past and current Boards and completed the Directors College modules from McMaster University in 2022 on Governance which brings a great benefit to the CVCF Board.

Judy is a Certified Professional Ergonomist with 40 years of experience teaching, researching, and consulting in occupational health. She has published extensively and given workshops internationally. She has a BSc and MSc in kinesiology/ergonomics and a PhD in industrial engineering.
Tommy MacGregor
Director
Tommy MacGregor is a Senior Business Relationship Manager at Coastal Community Credit Union and an active member of the Rotary Club of Courtenay. He has over 10 years of finance experience gained in senior roles across corporate finance and real estate development. Tommy attended BCIT for his undergraduate degree and later earned his Chartered Professional Accountant designation.

Tommy moved to the Comox Valley in 2021 with his wife, Lexy, to raise their young family. He believes strongly in the work of the CVCF and is excited to help carry forward the legacy established by the community members who have come before.
Jeff Lucas
Director
Jeff has had deep ties to the local community since he arrived in the Comox Valley almost 30 years ago. He has served with the Chamber of Commerce, Courtenay Rotary, We Can Shelter Society and is an active member of our local theatre scene. He believes that the strength of our community is driven from the engagement of our citizens, and he encourages everyone to share some of their time and energy with a local organization that resonates with their principles. Giving back is as good for our soul as it is beneficial for the organization.
