Comox Valley Community Foundation Launches Spring Neighbourhood Small Grants
The Comox Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) is pleased to announce that the Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program will be accepting applications from individuals in the Comox Valley, beginning Monday, March 1 through April 15, 2021. The NSG program offers small grants of up to $500 for community-based projects to help connect neighbours while following all public health guidelines.
A total of five projects were funded in the Fall 2020, including an art class on Zoom, care packages for the homeless, an introduction to Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing), adhesive smiles to help community members connect when wearing masks, and a project to bring holiday cheer to isolated community members.
“We were thrilled with the response from our community to our first NSG cycle last Fall,” said Matt Beckett, CVCF’s President. “As the weather improves and the pandemic continues, we expect there to be a lot of interest in NSGs. The NSG program has so much possibility, and we are looking forward to receiving a wide range of projects proposals.”
Neighbourhood Small Grants projects must be free, accessible, and welcoming for all. Check out stories from past grant recipients in other communities to get inspired for your own project at https://neighbourhoodsmallgrants.ca/stories/.
