CVCF Announces Neighbourhood Small Grants Recipients
The Comox Valley Community Foundation is pleased to announce that a total of 18 projects were recently funded through the Neighborhood Small Grants (NSG) program.
NSG is based on a simple but powerful idea: when people feel a sense of connection and belonging in their neighbourhood, they are more likely to be engaged in activities that make it a better place to live and when people are active in the life of their neighbourhood, our community is strengthened from the ground up. Fall 2021 marked the third time the NSG program was offered in the Comox Valley and the community response was outstanding.
“We continue to be amazed and delighted by the community’s response to the NSG program,” said Christine Helpard, CVCF’s President. “It’s a testament to the community we live in – so many people are initiating creative projects to engage with their neighbours and are ultimately making the Comox Valley a stronger and more connected community.”
The following projects received funding:
Since 1996, CVCF has awarded more than $4.2 million to over 170 local non-profits and 230 students in the form of grants and scholarships. These dollars have supported children and youth, seniors, the environment, arts and culture, adults with diverse abilities, and our community’s most vulnerable residents.
